Bicycle Maintenance & Repair
Fall/Spring
This experiential program introduces youth to the skills needed to ride safely and be empowered bike riders. Participants gain hands-on experience working with professional tools, practicing techniques to problem solve on-the-go and keep their bikes in working order. Vocational skills and creativity blossom in “Bike Shop”, as each student builds a bike from the frame up, and maybe even creates a unique cycling “contraption”to harness energy through pedaling! Supported by professional bicycle mechanic instructors, participants leave Bike Shop with enhanced life skills and confidence that will serve them well beyond Y.O.U.
